Family Mediation Services
When couples make the difficult decision to separate, the issues involved regarding finances, property, children and the on-going relationships with partners, grandparents and step-families can be extremely complex and often very difficult to manage.
Most people turn directly to a solicitor to discuss divorce or separation and its implications. The government has however introduced new measures to ensure separating couples consider Mediation before they proceed to court.
Constructive and cost effective
Mediation is a confidential and impartial service which needs to be led by a trained Mediator. The aim is not to encourage the parties to stay together but to resolve potentially complicated and emotive issues through a process of carefully managed dialogue. The mediator will facilitate the discussions to help the people involved to consider the options available to them and consider proposals that will suit them and their family as a whole.
Ideally it should remove the need for drawn out, costly and often stressful legal action.
